"What was helpful about my first session with my counsellor was that everything was explained clearly and I didn't feel obliged to continue with the sessions if I didn't feel comfortable with how the initial session went.
 
I did continue and overall counselling has helped me by allowing me to voice my feelings and fears to someone with no pre-conceptions - good or bad - about me. It helped me to map out my thoughts and plans better and I generally  found it quite an oasis every fortnight. I found it very beneficial.
